Not sure if you are feeling like me but this whole quarentine, virus, empty grocery shelf, 24-7 breaking news culture we have going on right now has just got me down. I'm emotinoally spent, and just feeling for everyone. I need some positivity. Here are so ways I came up with to support your meantal health, the small businesses, our local communities and stay sane stuck inside.
1. Check in on the people you know. Start a group txt or something and see who needs what. Do you have all the toilet paper and your friend Joe is out? SHARE!
2. Send a txt, facebook message, DM, or even old fashion snail mail to all the first responders, doctors and nurses you know. They are working overtime for our health all while beeing surrounded by this virus.
3. BE KIND. To the people at the grocery store. From the cashier, restocker to the greeter at the front door. They are exhausted from the mad rush we have put on them. Want to brighten their day even more? Buy them a gift card and say thank you. I appreciate you.
4. BE PATIENT. We are all waiting in long lines. We all have a slim chance of finding toilet paper, hand wipes, and some food basics within a 100mile radius. So BREATHE. Wait in line.
5. As a member of US society we are always saying we wish we had more time off. Well NOW YOU DO!! That to-do list you have. Dust it off and feel good about acomplishing it!
6. Feeling like you are missing your friends connections? We live in this amazing world of technology. What about organizing a virtual happy hour? or breakfast? Facetime together doing the same thing...it may not be the real thing but I promise it will fill a void!
7. Get outside (if its nice). Fresh air, sunshine, and exercise (a walk maybe?!) will change your mood in like 5 seconds!
8. Have kids? I feel ya on this one. Enjoy as much of this time off with them as you can. Easier said than done I know. Pintrest has some GREAT ideas by age on what to do to keep them entertained. Thats where I'm getting all my ideas from!
9. Take your own quiet time. Hot tea, coffee, a good book? Sometimes it's OK to be bored and have moments where our brains need to wander. It's not often that we get that opportnity in such a fast pace world.
10. Wash your hands. Get a good lotion for how cracked they will be after doing that 24/7. Have some wine and go turn on netflix. This too shall pass.
Have anything else to add to my list? Share below! I would LOVE to spread endless ideas so that we can all make it through this time together!
xx Sarah
